A coin that falls by 50% needs to double from its lower price just to return to where it started. That difference matters when reviewing risk, unrealized losses or break-even levels.

Transparent methodology
The break-even price for a single purchase is the original price per coin, before fees. The recovery percentage measures the rise from the current price needed to reach that level.
This calculator handles one purchase price and one quantity. It is designed for an unleveraged position. Multiple purchases, fee-inclusive break-even levels, derivatives and funding costs require different calculations.
Cost = buy price × coin quantity
Current value = current price × quantity
Gross profit/loss = current value − cost
Recovery % = (buy price ÷ current price − 1) × 100
The recovery percentage formula requires a current price greater than zero. If the current price exceeds the buy price, the result is a negative percentage, meaning the price can decline to reach the original entry level.
